Wearing makeup during summer is fun because you get to experiment with new trends and colors, but it’s also quite the hassle once you step out of an air-conditioned room. Everything starts to melt off and all your work begins to disappear thanks to sweat and humidity. This is why I like to keep my summer makeup looks to a minimum, instead opting to focus on one part of the face: the eyes.
These are three effortless ways to wear eyeliner:
1) Kitten eyes As much as I love a lovely cat flick, it’s a bit of a pain to achieve on a regular basis. Instead of going for a full on thick cat-eye, try out its easier sibling the kitten eye. With this technique, you don’t need to draw an even line across the full in, instead you just need to create a simple little flick on the side and drag it close to the lash line maximum half way across your eye.
Use: Lancôme Artliner Precision Point Liquie Eyeliner
2) Pop of colorThis is a great way to spice up your makeup look, especially if you have brown eyes. Whether it’s teal, navy blue, turquoise, purple, green or yellow, drag colored eyeliner across your bottom lashes for a bright summer look. If you’re really into the pop of color look, compliment the eyeliner with colored mascara!
Use: Urban Decay Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil
3) Instant smoky eyeLiquid eyeliner and cat/kitten flicks tend to need a bit of concentration. While one eye might look perfect, it’s sometimes hard to repeat the same magic treat on the second eye. This is where the smoky look comes in. The messier, the “edgier” and cooler the final look is. All you need is a creamy eyeliner pencil or gel liner and your ring finger. Drag the product around your eye, starting on the outer corner going inwards. Make sure the inner part of the eye doesn’t have too much product on it, then rub it in with your finger. For a more “polished” faded look, use a blending blush to blend it out. Clean up using a q-tip, and voila!
