Ingredients:For the caramel sauce:½ cup sugar3 tablespoons of salted butter¼ cup creamFor the cinnamon apples:3 diced apples2 teaspoons of lemon juice1/8 teaspoon nutmeg2 teaspoon cinnamon6 tablespoons of brown sugar1 tablespoon butterCinnamon Whipped Cream:1 cup whipped cream½ cup of powdered sugar1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon1 cup of granola cinnamonDirections:1) Start off by making the caramel, add the sugar in an even layer to the bottom of a medium sized pan. 2) Heat the sugar on high heat and whisk it until it has melted.3) Continue whisking until the sugar has turned to an amber color. Be careful not to burn the caramel. 4) Remove the caramel from the heat and add butter, whisk together until combined. 5) Add the cream and whisk again. Then allow the caramel to cool to room temperature. 6) For the apples, combine the diced apples with lemon juice, nutmeg, cinnamon and brown sugar in a medium pan. Then add butter and cook the apples for around 15 minutes (until they get soft). 7) Allow the apples to cool for 15 minutes. 8) During this time, make the cinnamon whipped cream by whisking the powdered sugar and cinnamon into the whipping cream in a metal bowl until the mixture thickens. 9) Now that all the components are ready, it’s time to assemble the trifle. 10) Pipe an even layer of the cinnamon whipped cream into the bottom of your cup. Then add 2 teaspoons of granola in an even layer. Drizzle caramel over the granola, and then add the apples. Repeat the process until the cup has been filled!11) Drizzle caramel on top of the last later of cream, and store in the fridge until ready to serve.
