1) You don’t heat the pan enoughIt happens to all of us. We have our ingredients chopped and ready to go while our patience runs low, so we just throw it all in the pan before allowing it to heat up properly. The next time you plan to cook with a pan remember that patience is a virtue. Let it heat up!
2) You don’t let it simmerThere’s a difference when it comes to boiling and simmering and many of us can’t tell the difference. If a recipe calls for simmering water that means the surface of water that’s put on top of the heat should break every second or two with a bubble. If you boil instead of simmer then your meal will be overcooked!
3) You don’t let the roasted chicken restYou’re really hungry and all you can think about is the chicken that’s roasting in the kitchen. The second it’s done; you cut it up and chow down without allowing the meat to rest. Once you roast chicken it’s important to let it sit for around 15 minutes, in order to allow the juices to redistribute, before cutting into it.
