In a mixer bowl combine white sugar and butter and the mixture is smooth. Then add eggs and vanilla, continue beating on medium speed. Add your dry ingredients, flour and baking powder, before adding the milk. Pour some of the mixture into the pan and cover it with the slices apples. Pat the apples into the batter with a spoon. Then add the cinnamon mixture on top of the mixture, pour the remaining batter on top and top it off with the remaining apples. Bake for 50 minutes, remove from the oven and allow it to cool for 10 minutes before transferring it to a cooling rack.
