Things are slowly, but surely, changing to the glossier. I feared this change ever since the matte trend began in the first place. I knew that people would eventually get sick of the Kylie Jenner-esque dried looking lips, the look that I have come to love oh-so-much. We will slowly be saying goodbye to our long-lasting smudge-proof bold lips to make way for tacky shiny lip-glosses. Worst of all, we will be saying hello to lip-gloss hair, the horrifying predicament many women of the 90’s had to endure when their hair would fly into (and get stuck in) their lip-gloss due to a light breeze. What have we done to the beauty-trend gods to deserve such vile treatment? Are matte-lips not good enough for them? I refuse to bid farewell to my precious matte liquid lipstick collection. I have worked too hard to find the perfect matte “My Lips But Better” shade that’s not too brown but not too rosy and certainly not too dead looking. I will fight this trend until the end. I will not succumb to beauty-trend peer pressure.
My lips will stay matte and dry looking, trends be damned!
