Kassem Istanbouli, the director of the Festival, is happy with the great international answer to the call for participation made by the Festival in September, to which nearly 300 short films were presented from all over the world. “We have received work with a very high quality, he says, high above previous editions of the Festival, so we are really moved by the program we will share with the audience of our Festival.”
Lebanon International Short films Festival will bring fiction, documentary and animation short films to the Lebanese cities of Tyre, Nabatiyeh and Tripoli from December 3 to December 8.
Several film directors have confirmed their attendance to the Festival that will be giving the awards on December the 8th, closing day.
The Festival will be hosted at the Stars Cinema of Nabatiyeh, which was recently re-opened by Istanbouli Theatre volunteers after a 27-year hiatus. Two more screenings will be held in the Southern Lebanese city of Tyre and the Northern Lebanese city of Tripoli.
Kassem Istanbouli has been directing the Culture program of activities developed at the Al Hamra Cinema of Tyre for two years and is currently managing its cultural proposal to the community. “Two years at the Al Hamra Cinema full of work and activities mostly devoted to the youngsters of the city, we are proud of our work as we have created several International Festivals (International Theatre Festival of Tyre, Tyre International Short Films Festival, Tyre International Music Festival, Tyre International European Cinema Festival) and we have promoted several workshops and events with a line of work that will be expanded now to the city of Nabatiyeh. Last Lebanon International Theatre Festival during the month of August proved that the audience of the city is open to receiving independent cultural proposals like the ones we are making."
