Elie Saab traveled in time, drawing inspiration from the many talents that marked this era. Paying tribute to the women of this flourishing era, the Lebanese designer adopts an elegant and creative approach to the architectural lines and oriental patterns that reveal star shapes and symbols depicted on voluminous long or medium length dresses. The finely crafted embroideries represent the palm trees of the town of Doumyat, and remind us of unforgettable scenes of boats dancing on the Nile while the fluidity of the fabrics, like a dream, echoes the breeze blowing on this river.
Motifs inspired by Arabic calligraphy also cover smooth and pure fabrics such as tulle, lace and muslin. Some fabrics rest delicately on the shoulders, others are cut so as to reveal part of the back and highlight the beauty of the neck. The accessories blend the modernity of transparency with the classic charm of the stones. It is a reinterpretation of the style of the time, when starlets, with a strong and passionate look, painted their lips and were not afraid to assume their femininity.
