I believe that the best experiences, the best laughs, the best memories are created around a table, in a good restaurant, when you have no responsibilities, except to enjoy the company and the food. But somehow, there’s always that voice in the back of your head nagging you to eat healthy, right ladies? Here’s some advice that might help. First, eat all day! Yes, you read right! Don’t save yourself for that dinner. Aim to eat a filling, healthy breakfast, a lighter lunch, and a small snack before dinner. If you don’t, it will likely be harder to resist the more indulgent dishes on the menu. Another thing I can advise is to go somewhere where you are familiar with the menu. Decide ahead of time what you will have for dinner, because research shows that people are often swayed by their friends’ choices. Perhaps, if you choose healthy, they will too! And please, please, please put your phone away… distracted eating can lead to eating too much. A report published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that when you’re not paying attention to your meal, you’re not tuned in to the signs that you’re full (or truly enjoying what you’re eating). So eat out all you want but learn to eat healthy. You’ll thank me later.
