Former French President Jacques Chirac Dies at 86

Former French president Jacques Chirac, who served as the head of France from 1995 to 2007, has died at the age of 86. His family shared the news with AFP, stating “President Jacques Chirac died this morning surrounded by his family, peacefully,”


Chirac, who had been suffering from ill health, had rarely been seen in public in recent years.


He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Chirac, their daughter Claude, and a grandson.
