Michele Hajal Dies at the Age 25

Michele Hajal, who was a finalist in 2016’s Miss Lebanon, has died at the age of 25 after losing her battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Hajal was diagnosed in January 2018, and underwent a successful round of chemotherapy, but she later relapsed and required specialized treatment in the United States. A successful social media campaign #FightWithMichele was launched in order to support Michele’s $750,000 CAR-T cells therapy treatment, and countless people showed their support by donating and sharing positive messages with the cancer fighter, including Lebanese singer Elissa, who tweeted: “I am really touched by the story of Michelle. I remember her from Miss Lebanon 2016 and here she is fighting cancer today at 24. God be with you dear. And we are all here to help” in September of 2018.

All seemed to have gone well with the treatment, as Michelle shared a post on Instagram in January of 2019 which hinted that her treatment in the United States was successful, and that she was on the road to recovery. Unfortunately, news broke on June 17th, 2019, that the ever-positive Michele lost her battle with the disease.

May you rest in peace, Michele!
