“Queen of Diamonds” found in Russia

A large diamond, estimated to be more than 350 million years old, has been found in a diamond mine in the Russian Republic of Yakutia, under the name of the “Diamond Queen” because of its rare transparent crystal type. Russia’s Rusa Mining and Mining Company said in a statement that a large diamond weighing 51.49 carats was found at the Vercheni Montsk Piagutia mine. The “diamond queen” round has eight faces, and tends to color a little yellow.
