Your Inner Battle

Does your blood begin to boil, so being tactful becomes the last thing on your mind? It’s OK! We all do. But it can be a valuable tool to create space between what you’re feeling and how you’re interacting during a conflict. Try to think about your intentions for the argument… I learnt the hard way, but instead of thinking about what you are going to say next, just try to absorb what the other person is sharing with you.
Even more difficult is trying to stay quiet when you just want to ramble on about your frustration. Just pause the argument by saying nothing. Once you have calmed down, see if you accept the situation and even if you still disagree, be respectful and keep an open mind.
